Java

What a title. The one thing that gets me kick started in the morning. My afternoon dessert. My daytime splurge. I love, love, love coffee. Not just any coffee; the blended Snickers from Jumpin Java, the Pumpkin Spice from Starbucks, the oh so sweet and sugary kind. Just walking into a barista puts my senses into high gear. For four months, four long, painful, agonizing months I went without. First of all let me tell you how much money I saved. It was crazy when you think about $6 a day, five days a week, 52 weeks in a year. That’s like a million mermaid dollars. Seriously though, it’s $1,560!!!!! Who spends that kind of money on coffee 🙄 Second of all I had no idea how to order anything that didn’t have over 50 grams of sugar. I asked for the sugar free options and the lady said, you know there’s still sugar in it. Well geez woman, here I am saying sugar free if I wanted sugar I would have just ordered anything off the menu. That’s false advertisement. However, one very sweet lady at a nearby mermaid (Chase’s word for Starbucks) the only 3 year old I know who can spot one a mile away. Oh yeah and a Target. Lol…. I digress. She took her time to walk me through what they could do 100% sugar free. Now ladies, your options are slim to none but oh so worth it. A machiotto with sugar free vanilla and almond milk has become my favorite splurge. That’s right, like once in a blue moon I’m too broke cause I love to cook, splurge. What I did find out was I could do similiar at home. Do I do it often, no. But I figured it out and let me tell ya, $6 goes along way when you do it yourself. What I do to switch it up is find any sugar-free creamer that is seasonal. Like Pumpkin Spice, some of y’all are shaking your head and I can about tell ya who. Lol…. But some of y’all know I have a pumpkin addiction and it hits the spot. At Christmas there are multiple sugar-free options. On a regular basis there’s always vanilla, sweet cream and hazelnut which happens to be my #1. By switching up my creamers it gives me variety. Also, it leads to little to no sweetener substitute. If your not a java lover, I’m sorry I don’t know how you made reading it this far. Also, we can’t be friends. ( <—– joke!) Here’s to saving money, staying caffeinated and enjoying our favorites. Then there’s just the pleasure of saying I would like a skinny coffee please….😂

Born and raised in small town USA Lexington, North Carolina more famously known for our BBQ, where our tea is sweet and our accents are sweeter (Oh yeah and you get that good ice, you know the hospital kind) at all our restaurants. If I was a travel agent I would be sure to disclose that, cause that is a selling point to me for sure. Except now, I am on a permanent vacation living at the coast, married to my wonderful husband (Ben) with three handsome boys (Kaleb, Joshua & Chase), a dog (Baloo) and as of yesterday a new fish (Pete). This journey I am on started out as trying to lose weight and ended up with me finding myself. So if you're ready to laugh, cry with me and probably shake your head at my grammar and punctuation you are more than welcome to join in on my shenanigans. All Aboard!
