As I write this there is a storm a’comin….Hurricane Dorian. As we strolled through Walmart the other day I had to giggle. The buggies were full of beer, snack cakes and chips. First of all what good are you gonna be if you’re half drunk and you are in an emergency situation? Secondly, I gained 10 pounds just looking at your cart much less eating it. There’s no gym open, no beach to walk at… just cabin fever and couch potatoes. So I took a different approach. We have fruit, Cheerios, protein bars, nuts, etc…. I guess all the boring stuff cause there was plenty of it. This is not an event that some of you have to prepare for, but for us this is too expect. The stressor for me “was” the unknown and my husband being out there in all the madness. Last year I evacuated and you would have thought it would have eased my mind, instead I felt like I ate everything in sight with worry. I promise it was all appropriate, just a little more than I should have. This year I realized there is no need to panic. Whatever is going to happen will happen and I have no control over it. So maybe, just maybe there will be some snacks left over and lucky for me my watch dings on the hour to get my butt up off the couch. Another one of my favorite gifts from the hubbs. Everyone should have one just to see how little you actually do when you feel like you’ve ran a marathon all day. Well stay safe to my local ladies. I love you all and hope you’re still behaving.

Born and raised in small town USA Lexington, North Carolina more famously known for our BBQ, where our tea is sweet and our accents are sweeter (Oh yeah and you get that good ice, you know the hospital kind) at all our restaurants. If I was a travel agent I would be sure to disclose that, cause that is a selling point to me for sure. Except now, I am on a permanent vacation living at the coast, married to my wonderful husband (Ben) with three handsome boys (Kaleb, Joshua & Chase), a dog (Baloo) and as of yesterday a new fish (Pete). This journey I am on started out as trying to lose weight and ended up with me finding myself. So if you're ready to laugh, cry with me and probably shake your head at my grammar and punctuation you are more than welcome to join in on my shenanigans. All Aboard! View more posts
