Now that you have stepped on the scales, what was your reaction? Mine, girl I don’t remember anything except alligator tears and snot. My first goal was to hit 200 which meant I had a long ways to go… 50 pounds! The one thing that I really tried to engrain in my thick noggin was everyone is built different and it took me years to put on so it will take time to come off. Rome wasn’t built in a day. After losing those first 5 pounds it just fueled me with motivation to keep going. I was so used to stretch pants that when I did hit my 20 pound mark I didn’t even know where to begin shopping. I had went from plus to women’s. Yay!!! That was a milestone for me. Let me back track for a minute. I started in April with a 50 pound goal giving myself to December 31st. By November I had hit my goal and set my next one. What’s another 15? Ben took me shopping cause ya know I had no clothes 🤗 I came out of the fitting room with the cheesiest grin, a big ego and those silly alligator tears, this time from pure joy…a size 12! Let me tell you something I learnt about numbers. I haven’t been a 12 since right out of high school and I weigh more now than I did then. What I’m trying to say is don’t dwell on the scale, let your clothes do the speaking for you. Maybe you don’t have a weight goal, but have those favorite jeans in the back of your closet. Use those as your personal motivation. Any progress is one step closer to where you want to be. Take those gosh awful pictures and compare. The devil is a liar and all those thoughts that make you want to stop. Remember why you started. You got this girls, I’m still over here cheering you on!

Born and raised in small town USA Lexington, North Carolina more famously known for our BBQ, where our tea is sweet and our accents are sweeter (Oh yeah and you get that good ice, you know the hospital kind) at all our restaurants. If I was a travel agent I would be sure to disclose that, cause that is a selling point to me for sure. Except now, I am on a permanent vacation living at the coast, married to my wonderful husband (Ben) with three handsome boys (Kaleb, Joshua & Chase), a dog (Baloo) and as of yesterday a new fish (Pete). This journey I am on started out as trying to lose weight and ended up with me finding myself. So if you're ready to laugh, cry with me and probably shake your head at my grammar and punctuation you are more than welcome to join in on my shenanigans. All Aboard! View more posts
