Don’t be afraid!

This could go so many ways but in context I mean to substitute when cooking. I said in an earlier post I was creating my own cookbook. When I find a must try recipe it is almost a guarentee I will not follow all directions. Google, Google, Google. Just today I had to ask Google what I could use as an alternative to coconut sugar (Which is one of the healthiest out there) I just don’t have any at the moment. So good ole Google gave me a list of things I could try. All I had in my pantry was raw honey, so what did I use. That’s right. Just make a notation of how much you use and if it’s a keeper then you will have it for next time. I am not a huge Greek yogurt fan so I always use unsweetened applesauce. Play around, try new things, it’s okay if it doesn’t come out the way you expected the first time. I can’t tell you how many times I try the same recipe and tweak it till I get it just right. There is no failure in the kitchen….unless the Fire Department shows up. Hehe….

Born and raised in small town USA Lexington, North Carolina more famously known for our BBQ, where our tea is sweet and our accents are sweeter (Oh yeah and you get that good ice, you know the hospital kind) at all our restaurants. If I was a travel agent I would be sure to disclose that, cause that is a selling point to me for sure. Except now, I am on a permanent vacation living at the coast, married to my wonderful husband (Ben) with three handsome boys (Kaleb, Joshua & Chase), a dog (Baloo) and as of yesterday a new fish (Pete). This journey I am on started out as trying to lose weight and ended up with me finding myself. So if you're ready to laugh, cry with me and probably shake your head at my grammar and punctuation you are more than welcome to join in on my shenanigans. All Aboard!
